About Halcyon (pronounced Hal-see-on)
Halcyon Wellness LLC is a small private practice mental health clinic conveniently located in Chippewa Falls. We
offer a private and comfortable setting for clients and their families.

About the Therapist
Gina Lien has been practicing mental health for over 15 years. Prior to that she was an educator. Most of her
clients range from the ages of 12 to 21, but she sees many adults as well. Gina loves helping others learn to be
themselves and love who they are! She has been told that she is down to earth and kind of goofy which is why she tends to connect with many.

Areas of Interest
Anxiety, depression, transitional/adjustment issues, family changes, academic/school concerns, self-esteem
concerns, trauma and abuse, and many others…call if you have questions.

The Process
The family/parents/guardians are an important part of the therapeutic process and it is vital that we meet with you
at least occasionally as we see your child. In most cases, we require that the initial assessment take place at the clinic for a couple of reasons. 1. To ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed; 2. To meet with you and get your parental/guardian input; 3. To set some initial goals; and 4. To be sure that your child is appropriate for school-based services as well as agree to it. We would then have occasional appointments at the office to be sure that we are all on the same page and maintain contact.

If they are appropriate for the schools, sessions coincide with the periods of the day in the middle and high schools – so they may have an appointment time that is like 9:07-9:52. In the elementary school, we set a time that is best for everyone. We will also rotate times, so they are not missing the same classes.

Payment
We take a variety of insurances including, but not limited to, Security Health Plan, United Health, Anthem, WEA
Trust, WPS, Multi-Plan/Health EOS, Medicaid, and others.

Does My Child Really Need Therapy?
Great Question! Cardinal Care allows you or your family member the opportunity to meet with a therapist for 4
sessions to determine what level of care might be necessary or if there is something that can be worked out in just a few sessions. As these are completed, we will talk about options of therapists in the area if needed or hopefully the client might feel more equipped to move forward without further intervention.

Questions?
If you have questions about how to proceed with any of this, please do not hesitate to call or email and ask. We are happy to try to help.

TESTIMONIALS

“The group was very good, and it calmed me down a lot. When you feeling stressed this class is a time to just relax and think about everything and it soothes your mind.”   “I liked that every time I needed to relax or talk about something I would not get judged that place was a free spot.”   “Being in the relax group really helped me become calm, and know what to do in times when I’m overwhelmed. The Relax Group also helped me focus on everyday tasks, and the group gave some incredibly good advice :)”
Student feedback about a Relax Group
School-based mental health services allow a child to receive much needed services regularly without the inconvenience of scheduling around after school activities or parents having to take time off work.

You made this process super easy and helped me every step of the way to ensure that my student is set up for success. In following up with me and making sure we were taken care of shows that you care about the students and their wellbeing. Thank you so much for making this as easy as it was, I truly appreciate everything!
CFAUSD Parent
As a parent having the School Based Mental Health available has been very helpful with my child.  The process has gone smoothly from the initial contact to being able to choose a therapist that may work best with my child to the therapist working directly with my child.  This is also helpful that they are able to come directly to my child at the school so that they are missing less school and I as a parent need to miss less work as well.  Overall the whole experience has been a positive one for both myself and my child.

As a therapist, having the School Based Mental Health available for students is very important in many aspects. School is an area where children spend a great amount of their time and the schools are able to work with the therapists to help in any areas that they may be struggling in.  The schools have all been very open with working with me as a therapist and the children are able to still get services that are needed for either home or school issues without having to miss more time at school since the therapy is able to be done right at the school settings.  Being able to provide this service for families is a great asset for everyone involved.
