Bio:

Missy lives in Eau Claire with her husband and four children. She completed her undergraduate studies at UW-Eau Claire where she obtained a Bachelor of Social Work degree with a double major in psychology and social work. Missy obtained her Master’s of Social Work degree from University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2013.
The bulk of her career has been in child welfare serving children and families with significant trauma, abuse and neglect but has been practicing clinically since 2019.

She is interested in continuing to work with individuals who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and complex trauma. Missy has experience with mental health crises including self-injury and suicidal ideation. She enjoys working with older children, teenagers, and adults struggling with an array of issues including depression, anxiety, errors in thinking, coping skills, family issues, and PTSD.

As someone who strives to prevent child abuse, neglect, and trauma, perinatal mental health is very important to Missy. Perinatal mood disorders are the most under-diagnosed complication of childbirth and can lead to negative outcomes for both the mom and her baby. Missy is excited to work with all moms who do not feel the “joy of motherhood” and are overwhelmed with the unrelenting standards and demands of motherhood. She’s happy to help moms with their mental health, before, during, and after pregnancy and is happy to screen new fathers as well.
